Products are included in our database based on publicly available specifications, market availability in the United States, and relevance to common indoor air quality concerns. Selection is driven by spec coverage — not payment, sponsorship, or advertising agreements.

We prioritize models with published CADR ratings (tested per ANSI/AHAM AC-1), documented HEPA grades, and transparent filter replacement costs. Products without sufficient published data may be included with appropriate caveats noting missing specifications.

No manufacturer can pay for inclusion, higher placement, or favorable treatment in our guides or comparisons.

All product specifications are sourced from manufacturer-published data sheets, official product pages, and publicly available AHAM (Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers) certification records where applicable.

CADR ratings follow the ANSI/AHAM AC-1 testing standard. Where a manufacturer does not publish AHAM-verified CADR, we note this clearly so readers can assess data reliability.

Cost estimates (filter replacement and electricity) use standardized assumptions documented on our review methodology page.

Clean Air Wiki does not conduct independent laboratory testing of air purifiers. Our evaluations are based entirely on manufacturer specifications, published test data, and standardized calculations.

We do not claim to have physically tested products unless explicitly stated. When hands-on observations are included, they are clearly labeled as such.
